Patty

Thank you. We had a FABULOUS homecoming. Everyone stopped over with their dogs and had quite the party. Send me a Facebook friend request and I'll add you on. It was great meeting the 2 of you. We talked all the way home about how special you are, to do what you do for these guys. Dan & Cindy Dear Colleen and Kevin, First a note of thanks for having us to your home on March 4th to meet "Patty" AKA Jett and the rest of your 4 legged family. It's very easy to see how much time, love and commitment you both provide for all of your fosters. We decided to name her Jett because she is so fast and a little "tongue and cheek" . . . Jett Lee is Dan's favorite action star!! Little did we know at the time, that not only is she fast but also seems to know Kung Fu!! She is truly a handful but also a pure joy! It has taken Chance a bit to adjust but they now sleep side by side each night. We had our first vet visit on 3/7, basically an introduction, weight and check up. She was 7.5 lbs. that day. Today we went back and had her DHLPP (12wks), her chip inserted and nails clipped. She did very well and had the entire staff charmed. She has gained almost a 1lb. and her coat has changed slightly with a bit more black showing along her spine and a black tip on her tail. She is doing very well with her potty training. As of yesterday not a single accident inside! Yesterday was also my birthday and as a gift my daughter gave us a 12 week puppy training gift certificate. We will begin the classes the first of tApril. I will post new pix on FB this week so you can see her progress. Again, it was so great meeting you and we thank you so much for all your loving care and for the gift of this precious pup! She truly is a special girl. We'll keep in touch! Much love to you both! Cindy, Dan, Chance and Jett

PeeWee McKain

Karen (mom) and Emily ((daughter) came to see PeeWee and coupled that with college visits. Dad and the 2 younger children stayed home awaiting the arrival of their new family member. Karen called on the way home (to Connecticut) with the report of how well everything was going, she told me Emily cried for an hour about maybe they did the wrong thing taking PeeWee away from his family and friends. She couldn't miss our tearful goodbyes. I had to email her to explain about fostering and what we were feeling . . . Hi Emily! I just wanted to thank you so very much for giving PeeWee a loving and caring home! He couldn't have found a better family to be with the rest of his life! I am so glad when I see how great it turns out for these little ones like when I see how PeeWee is loved by you and your family. He is special just like all the little ones that we have saved. They each hold a special place in our heart in some way. There is not one of them that I wouldn't of kept but if we kept them, then we could not save others. I wanted to show you what you and your family made possible by making PeeWee a part of the Crocco family. . . We are getting Harry on Saturday because we can now save another one that needs a 2nd chance in life! We would never of been able to if we kept PeeWee. We would have no room. We love what we do with the rescue and it is very rewarding to help these little ones. The only bad part are the goodbyes but they are good ones not bad. Knowing that PeeWee has you for his family makes it sooo much better and easier. Look at his face and those eyes . . . how can anyone not get attached to him! He is so adorable and smart! I've attached a picture and the bio of Harry below so you know who you helped to save also. Feel good! You are a special person and I am so glad we got to meet you and your mom! Please keep in touch and let us know how the college search goes! Have fun in your senior year! Can't wait to hear from you and updates on PeeWee, the new Crocco member! I received a phone call on how great it is going then this email . . . Pee-Wee went with Pat today running errands. He came home from work several hours early. He said that he felt guilty leaving Pee-Wee at home today, since he was alone yesterday for a few hours. Funny, Pat never feels guilty leaving ME at home... First, they dropped me off at work. Then, they picked up Emily at her school and took her for her allergy shot. (Pat walked Pee-Wee around outside while Emily was inside--we didn't think it was a good idea to bring a dog into an allergist's office!). Then, he dropped Emily off at her school, and then picked up Belle and Matt at school (Pee-Wee waited in the car while Pat ran in--he's definitely not ready to meet other people yet!). Then, he came and got me from work. Pee-Wee was GREAT in the car! Although we didn't give him his meds, he never threw-up (or looked like he was going to!). Sometimes he rode on Pat's lap; sometimes he slept in the front seat. Sometimes, he stood on Pat's lap and growled at people walking by the car at a stoplight, which Pat of course thought was hilarious. He's such a good dog. Last night, we fell asleep watching TV on the couch with Pee-Wee. Pat got up in the middle of the night and went upstairs to bed. He said Pee-Wee never even woke up. He slept all night curled up with me. He's such a good boy. We're trying to carry him up and down the stairs as much as possible, but he's all over the place--up and down off the couch, up and down the stairs, etc. He gets a running start and bounds on the couch. He's nipped at Belle and Matt a few times, and because of that, they tend to be more timid around him, especially when petting him. I talked to our vet (who I'll be seeing next Tuesday) and asked them for a recommendation of a local animal behaviorist that can come to our house to work with Belle and Matt and Pee-Wee together. It's not Pee-Wee that needs the training--it's the kids! They've got to be more firm with him, but they just don't know how. I think they'll feel more comfortable listening to a "professional." I've got a call into someone they recommended. I'll let you know how we make out. He hasn't nipped at Pat at all--he goes crazy for him when he sees him. I've promised Belle and Matt that they'll get there too. We love him to pieces. He's just the cutest thing ever! How are you guys doing without Pee-Wee? I bet Tink is missing him! When is your new addition coming? Your write-up was the saddest thing ever. I'm so grateful he's coming to your house, however. I know if anyone can help him, it's you and Kevin. xxxooo, Karen

Princess

Princess is everything and more than I could want with a dog. She is a real sweetheart. She wimpered for a little while after you left and went to the door. We decided to take her for a walk --- and she seemed fine afterwards. Who knows what goes on in their little heads. My husband is quite smitten. She slept with us last night -- didn't make a peep, and never got off the bed.We have an appointment on Wed. with the vet at Companion Hospital. Lee had off today and the two seemed to have a really good day. I want to thank you for the care that you gave Princess. It was very obvious that you two have a bond. Thanks for your advice and special treats. You are going to do very well with fostering. We just got back from the vet. She has no health issues that Dr. Libby was concerned about except tartar on her teeth. Dr. Libby would like to see her back in the fall to clean them. She was a real hit in the waiting room. We are calling her Princess Lilly right now, but we plan to drop the Princess eventually and just call her Lilly. Lee tends to call her Peanut alot. She is a little Peanut. She really is adorable and so much fun. It's really wonderful that there are people like you that give their time and love by fostering. Thanks again for all you did. Nancy and Lee Sheaf
