Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

Hello my name is Jemma.
11/4/2014 I was just at the vet's and got the rest of my shots and was fixed... i have already learned how to jump and can jump from the ground to a foot stool about 2' high. Abby really works with me learning new tricks. The best part is getting treats when I do want she wants me to.

I am a six pound mini-shih tuz who just LOVES to be held and get belly rubs I am also a "BONDED PAIR WITH THE DOG MIA4." PLEASE ADOPT THE BOTH OF US! I love to play ball and race Mia4 to get to it especially when you throw a "MINI TENNIS BALL" for me to go chase! I came from a really bad place where my previous owners were keeping too many of us. The number of my fellow brothers and sisters were always changing all the time, either being added to the family or taken away. Lucky for me and my sister Mia, both of us and the rest of our 135 family dog pack were rescued (seized) from those people. Now many of us are with wonderful foster families. We are hoping to be in our forever family soon! Today, we learned how to sit. I quickly learned that by doing what Abby told me to do, I got rewarded with this yummy chicken treat! When me and Mia learned how to go outside to do our business, man those humans they really get excited when a dog poops outside! Though when Mia4 has to go in before me, then I cry for her. I learned that children are super fun to play with! Big dogs, um I'm not so sure about so far. So if you are looking for new family members- please consider us. We don't eat much- we like to play and if you're tired we play with each other and if you give us back rubs we will give you kisses!
More about Jemma
Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

PLEASE BE AWARE: Adoption questions are not website questions! If you have questions about adoption or a specific dog, fill out an Adoption Application and the dog's foster will get in touch with you.
